I just got two new Florida Gar at the highly recomended Beverly's Pet Center, wanted to get involved so I thoght I might start here.

	i dont know why you guys are such morons, it is a LONGNOSE GAR....i posted a link in the last comment to a profile, florida gars do have shorter noses (but they are not "shortnose gars" which is an entierly different species)

	you idiot its not a characin it is a true gar, a juvenile longnose gar. Longnose gars have solid lines running the length of thier body that break up into spots as they get older http://primitivefish.com/LongnoseGar.htm
